We welcome the return of Classical Guitarist Dave Richman, who received such an enthusiastic response last November that we asked for an encore performance.
The program will include music from Renaissance to Modern. The performance includes discussion about the composer and an overview of the period styles and changes or inventions as music progressed. This promises to be an evening of music that is enjoyable, informative, and inspiring. The program will move chronologically from Renaissance to Baroque to early 19th century classical to mid-19th century Spanish Guitar, the American Songbook, and then to later Spanish and South American music.
Ithaca-based guitarist and band leader Dave Richman plays styles from folk, country, and bluegrass to rock, jazz, and classical. He’s a member of Grassanova (bluegrass Americana), Richman and the Poorboys (dance music), and What’s Cooking (jazz trio). Dave has been for 25 years a member of the Classical Guitar Society of Upstate New York. He plays classical guitar weekly at the Stonecat Café in Hector, NY.
